Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is well, it’s been a while since i have blogged, unfortunately this time round it’s not much of an exciting conversation that i am coming to you guys with. Yes definitely it’s sensitive and it took me a lot of thinking before I even decided to type up on this.
Consider this more of a letter of expression from a British born Hindu girl rather than a blogger today.
As everyone already knows, I have moved to India permanently since the past two years now and this is my first blog since. It’s evident that I love my country and I take pride in my religion & my culture, this also doesn’t mean that I disrespect anyone else’s.
Heavy heartedly I want to touch on the PAHALGAM ATTACK. This horrible, inhumane attack took place in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on 22nd April 2025, it was senseless violence that has broken Hindu’s across the globe. This was not just a terrorist attack, this was an attack only on HINDU’S. Ever heard of a terrorist attack where they ID’d the hostages then stripped them to identify the belonging of their RELIGION before they shot them in front of their wives and children.
On 22nd April 2025 in Kashmir’s Pahalgam , 26 innocent HINDU tourists were ID’d, stripped naked and then shot dead in front of their wives & kids. 25 were Indian citizens and 1 being a Nepali citizen. Various others were also left injured. The attackers were dressed in militant outfits and armed with weapons, clearly a strategically planned attack on HINDU’S. Imagine women have been widowed and children have been left fatherless & when you ask “why” the answer is because you are HINDU’S. Women are raped publicly and the answer to that “why” is also because you are HINDU’S. Men are stripped bottom down in public and the answer to that “why” is also because you are HINDU’S.
The past days have been heavy not just for every Hindu but also for millions of Indian’s too, this merciless attack on the Hindu’s has brought a lot of rage in many of us, long are gone the days where Hindus use to maintain silence and surrender, we have surrendered many times and have yet been looked after by divine, but now the silence has broke, we have seen many protests and wars on the streets over the past years but not any which had been of Hindus, but the PAHALGAM ATTACK has been a wake up call globally. We can no longer remain silent. Our silence has never been our weakness but it has been taken as though it is.
I have been seeing alot of videos going around on instagram in relation to the Indians protesting in front of the Pakistani embassy in central London. The comments on these videos put me to shame, i feel us Indians internationally lack alot alot of knowledge, we need to go back to our roots and learn our history, just because were born, raised or live in the UK doesn’t mean that we’re not responsible to protect & stand up for our ethnicity & belonging. I’m not instigating violence or saying that every Hindu & Indian should protest or raise a voice, it’s perfectly fine not to BUT let’s remain silent if we don’t have our facts right too. Yes I rightfully hold privilege of being a British born citizen which I rightfully have been granted but that wasn’t gifted to us,there have been many sufferings & sacrifices that our forefathers made & went through to attain this under the British India rule, it’s not a favour its an earning and was respectfully granted in the hands of our generation. I read comments saying “go back to your own country and protest, don’t bring these problems to the UK”, and shockingly this was an Indian girls comment, well let me tell you these protests are of awareness not violence and the sooner we wake up as INDIANS & HINDU’S the better it is, if these conversations are always buried under the rug and silence is maintained then we need to start thinking about the religion , morals and culture our children will follow? What will be the worth of the wars, sacrifices & battles that our forefathers went through to put us in the positions that we hold today?. It’s high time we stand up and hold pride in who and what we are whilst respecting others, but respect should be given only where respect is returned.
I have no intention of leaving India any time soon and especially not now. This is my home, the country where my soul is awakened and my culture and religion flows within me each and every second. I’m not isolated away from my reality here so nothing can ever be more safer to me than INDIA 🇮🇳❤️
I intend to continue my blogs and hopefully bring more uplifting & exciting journeys, experiences & travels back on my site, but for now this was something i thought had to be said by me not only as a prideful & hurt Indian Hindu but also as a Human 🙏🏾🇮🇳❤️
